The short version: Waypoint is a self-guided personal tool, not therapy or medical care. Your data is yours and lives on your device — which also means backups are your job. Optional sync and AI features run on your GitHub and Anthropic accounts under their terms. The app is provided as-is; use it lawfully, be an adult (or supervised by one), and export a backup before doing anything drastic.
Acceptance of These Terms
Waypoint is made by Old Elliott Provisions of Fox, Alaska (“we,” “us”). By using Waypoint at waypoint.oldelliottprovisions.com or as an installed app, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Waypoint.
What Waypoint Is — and Is Not
Waypoint is a personal goal-tracking and behavior-change tool. Its design draws on concepts from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), explained in the in-app Science guide.
Waypoint is not a medical, psychological, or clinical service. Using Waypoint does not create a clinician–client, therapist–patient, or behavior-analytic service relationship with Old Elliott Provisions or with any individual, regardless of professional credentials. Waypoint’s assessments and surveys are self-guided reflection tools, not diagnostic instruments.
Waypoint is not for emergencies. If you are in crisis or concerned about your health or safety, contact emergency services or a qualified professional.
Eligibility & Accounts
Waypoint is intended for adults 18 and over. Family features that involve minors must be set up and supervised by a parent or legal guardian. There are no hosted accounts — your “account” is the data on your own device, and you are responsible for that device and for any PINs you set. PINs gate what is displayed in the app; they are not encryption.
Your Data & Your Responsibilities
Everything you enter into Waypoint belongs to you and is stored on your device, as described in the Privacy Policy. Because we never hold your data, we cannot recover it for you. Browser storage can be erased by clearing site data, browser resets, or device loss. Export a JSON backup regularly under More → Export & Data, and always before using Factory Reset or switching devices.
Optional Third-Party Features
GitHub Gist sync and the AI chat feature are optional and run on credentials you supply — your GitHub personal access token and your Anthropic API key. Those services are governed by their own terms and pricing, any usage costs are billed to your accounts, and you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. We never receive or store them.
Acceptable Use
Use Waypoint lawfully and for personal or household purposes. Do not use it to harm, harass, or monitor anyone without their knowledge and consent, and do not misrepresent Waypoint or resell it as your own.
Intellectual Property
The Waypoint application — its code, design, text, and original frameworks (including the Reinforcer Survey’s six-dimension framework) — is © Old Elliott Provisions. The data you enter remains yours. The scientific concepts Waypoint draws on belong to their respective literatures, cited in the in-app References section.
Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
Waypoint is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Old Elliott Provisions is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Waypoint; our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for Waypoint in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Changes to Waypoint or These Terms
We may update Waypoint and these Terms over time. Material changes will be noted in the app’s Recent Updates card and by revising the effective date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
Ending Things
You may stop using Waypoint at any time — export your data first if you want to keep it. We may discontinue or modify the service; because your data is local, discontinuation does not delete what is on your device.
